Memorial Courtyard

Alongside the Japanese Garden of Peace is the Memorial Courtyard. The courtyard is ringed by beautiful old limestone walls that date back to the 1800s and the early days of the old Nimitz Hotel. These cut stone walls are now the Memorial Wall, and hold plaques honoring the contributions of individuals, ships and units during the war in the Pacific. A Memorial Wall Plaque may be sponsored by an organization or family member through a donation to the Admiral Nimitz Foundation.

The Veterans' Walk of Honor paves the path around the courtyard. Namepaver bricks, available for sponsorship, are inscribed tributes to units, ships and individuals who served in the war and on the homefront.
